    Holgatron, I used some guidelines from Wallace Billingham's website, The Plastic Landscape (www.theplasticlandscape.com), which I suspect may no longer be online. Wallace's blog is at http://wallacebillingham.com/. He suggested trying 1 second in sun, 4 seconds in cloudy conditions, and 8-16 seconds or more in shade during the summer, with double these exposures in the winter. I did some exposure bracketing at first.
