Don't let go; don't disappear

From the series, "Destroyed and enduring."

Holga 120N, Kodak Tri-X

  1. I like the dichotomy and tension of this series' title - we usually think of something being destroyed as ceasing to exist, so it is wonderful to contemplate the idea that something or someone can endure post-destruction. The title of this image seems to be a plaintive call to the past, to endure and keep witness. The grasses in the foreground seem so fragile to bear the responsibility implied in "don't let go".

  2. I can't say it better than Paul. Sometimes that's what happens in life-- parts of our lives feel like they've been destroyed, but then we must endure and carry on. Other times we are the ones who feel destroyed and need to find ways to endure. What a great idea to contemplate.
